Important Info About Dinner in Owens
The Food Court in Owens Hall seats only 700 people. This is significantly less than the seating capacity of Dietrick. Thus, we request that you please move on after you are done eating and not linger around taking up space that can be used by the hundreds of starving mouths attached to the bodies waiting outside for empty seats.

DRUGS
Some drugs are okay for some people in some situations - only grown-ups can do tobacco and alcohol, and they can only do them in specified locations and times. Some drugs are ILLEGAL. YOU risk losing your SUUSI week (as well as being arrested for the use of illegal substances on the VT campus) when you violate SUUSI's no tolerance policy. Keep this in mind - just say no.

How to Walk Across Campus at SUUSI
by Mary Ann Somervill (a veteran of 17 SUUSIs)
Don't watch your shoe when I pass by.
Walk tall, head up. Look me in the eye.
We haven't met. I don't know your name.
But we're connected just the same.
We're part of a loving community,
So look up, smile. Share yourself with me.
How will I ever get to know you, if, when we pass, you watch your shoe?

Community Expectations
We have an abundance of freedom at SUUSI. With it comes full responsibility. Be alert and let's all help make SUUSI safe and enjoyable for everyone!

SUUSI Banner made of old T-shirts
Keep your old T-shirts handy to give to Ellen Lee (of Sidney, NY) on Friday. Details forthcoming...

SUUSIships
There are four (count 'em, four!) easy ways to help others attend SUUSI while having fun yourself. Shop at the used SUUSI book sale. Purchase gifts for yourself or others at the Artists Bazaar/Coop. Visit the Common Ground CafÈ! And remember there is one more way to help - Donate your key deposit check - it makes checkout quicker on Sat AM and helps support SUUSIships. And, we do graciously and gratefully accept donations - Leave a check in the board folder in the info office or donate your key deposit check on Saturday checkout. Thanks for all that you do to help others attend SUUSI.

UNISEX PRONOUNS!
They're hip - They're cool - They work! Instead of saying the subjective and cumbersome pronouns "she or he", try using "s/he" (pronounced "see"); Instead of using the objective "him or her", "hir" works just as well (pronounced "hear"); Hir also works in place of the possessive pronouns "his or her"- this may sound confusing, but context clues should help out :)

Need extra towels? Wash your own.
There are laundry facilities in dorms throughout VA Tech. Laundry detergent is sold at the New Res West front desk.
